The Crucifixion with Our Lady of Sorrows

Frauenkirche, Munich, Germany

A number of wayside crosses I have observed in Austria and Croatia also place the Virgin Mary as the single figure directly below the crucified Christ, although none used the sword emblematic of Our Lady of Sorrows or the halo of twelve stars. (The latter is from Revelation 12:1, the former from Luke 2:34-35.)
